Newborn Care ("the app", "we", "us", or "our") is a newborn care tracker that helps
parents and caregivers log feeding, sleep, diaper changes, growth, and related notes for
their baby, and share that information with caregivers they invite. This Privacy Policy
explains what information the app collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication details through our authentication provider. If you sign in with Google, we receive basic profile information from Google to create your account.
Baby care data you enter. The feeding, sleep, diaper, and growth entries you log, along with any notes, timestamps, and the baby profile information (such as name) you provide.
Voice recordings. If you record a voice note on an entry, the audio is uploaded to our storage and sent to a third-party service to transcribe it into text. The audio and its transcription are stored so you can replay and read them.
Location (only when you use the pediatrician finder). When you search for nearby pediatricians, your search location is used to return nearby results. We do not continuously track your location.
Feedback. If you send feedback from the app, we collect your message, rating, and category.
Technical data. Basic technical information needed to operate the service securely and reliably.
How we use your information
To provide the core features of the app: logging, syncing, and displaying your baby's care data.
To sync data securely between caregivers you invite using your baby's invite code.
To transcribe voice notes and to generate visit-prep summaries you request.
To return nearby pediatrician results when you use that feature.
To send on-device reminders you configure.
To respond to your feedback and support requests, and to keep the service secure.
How your information is shared
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers. We share information only in these limited ways:
With caregivers you invite. Anyone with whom you share your baby's invite code can view and add to that baby's data.
With service providers who help us run the app, including our authentication provider, cloud storage, a transcription and summarization provider for voice notes and visit-prep summaries, and a maps and places provider for the pediatrician finder. These providers process data only to perform services for us.
For legal reasons, if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the service.
Data retention and deletion
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. The creator of a baby can delete
that baby, which removes its associated care data. If you would like to delete your account
and associated data, contact us at the email below and we will process your request.
Security
Your information is stored securely, and access to a baby's data is limited to the caregivers
you invite. Voice recordings are access-controlled so only caregivers of the associated baby
can play them. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take
reasonable measures to protect your information.
Children's privacy
Newborn Care is intended for use by parents, guardians, and caregivers who are adults. The app
records information about a baby that is entered by an adult caregiver. It is not directed to
children, and children are not the users of the app.
Your choices and rights
You can view, edit, and delete the entries you log.
You can control reminders and permissions (such as location, microphone, notifications, and calendar) from your device settings.
You can request access to or deletion of your personal data by contacting us.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last
updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance
of the updated policy.
